Then there's Madelyne.
Alex becomes involved with his brother's estranged wife. That's already complicated before Inferno adds demons, transformed personalities, and everything happening around Madelyne's son.
The Goblin Prince version of Alex pushes that relationship into an even uglier place. He's caught up in Madelyne's descent, and his feelings for her are mixed into a conflict that also involves Scott.
You don't have to pretend the demonic influence isn't there. You also can't explain the entire relationship away with it. Alex and Madelyne had already become involved.
There are existing feelings and family problems for Inferno to make worse. Once the crossover ends, none of those relationships can reasonably be treated as if nothing happened.
Then there's Madelyne.
