Muir Island doesn't turn into a safe place for her either.
By #269, the reader can see how wrong things have become there. Lorna is being held, and the Shadow King is involved. She's reached the place that's supposed to help her, and she's a prisoner again.
Her changed condition is now tied into what's happening around her. Instead of finally having time to understand it, she's being exploited again.
That's Mesmero, Eric the Red, Malice, Zaladane, and now this. The circumstances aren't identical, but that's a lot of major Lorna stories built around somebody else taking control of her mind, her body, or her powers.
You can write each incident as a threat. Reading them together also makes the repetition pretty obvious.
Muir Island doesn't turn into a safe place for her either.
