By #249, Lorna manages to fight back enough to call for help. Then Zaladane gets her hands on her. In #250, Zaladane steals her magnetic powers. Alex is there and can't stop it. After everything involving Malice, the answer isn't that Lorna finally gets her normal life back. She loses the powers she's had since the beginning. The Malice bond breaks, but something else starts happening to her body. She becomes bigger and physically stronger, with a level of toughness she didn't have before. She's no longer doing the thing that made her Polaris in the first place, and she doesn't have a clear explanation for what she's becoming. A power change can give a character something new to work through. Lorna certainly gets the change. Getting control of her own story is still the harder part.
