When the ongoing Wonderland series starts, Violet is a teenager, and she and Calie are still running. Violet's grown up with this being part of her life. Calie has to keep trying to protect her, and Violet is old enough to have her own opinions about how they're living. Meanwhile, you've still got the hat, the mirrors and people getting pulled into Wonderland. Getting past what happened in the trilogy hasn't stopped all of that. The Void also shows up in this part of the series. It claims it's been manipulating the people who became Wonderland's inhabitants. That's what it says, so I wouldn't treat every part of its explanation as automatically true. But Calie now has another thing to deal with while she's trying to figure out how far back all of this goes. She's also getting to the point where she's trying to do something about Wonderland itself. She and Violet can't keep moving forever and expect that to fix it.
