Blood and Claws starts with Wolverine going to visit Puck in Vancouver. Three issues later, they've been through the Spanish Civil War and several other stops in time, with Lady Deathstrike trying to kill Logan along the way. This is Wolverine #35–37, written by Larry Hama and drawn by Marc Silvestri. That's the actual story, separate from all the other material collected in the later book with the same name. Logan and Puck are catching up and looking at Puck's past in Spain. Deathstrike is trying to get Gateway to send her to Wolverine. Her request runs into what Logan is looking at, and they end up pulled into 1937. So a visit with a friend turns into being stuck in the middle of a war. They meet Inez and Ernesto, and pretty quickly they're dealing with an air raid and trying to get moving. Puck isn't just telling Logan an old story anymore. They're actually there with people from his life, and whatever happens next can involve them too.
