6/10 The Queen answers with Ace of Spades and his spectral forces. The anti-Highborn weapons don't solve this attack, and the survivors' camp is overrun. Rachel sacrifices herself to help drive them back. Then Lucinda's side offers the survivors a deal: turn over the heroes and destroy the weapons, and they can be spared. After another night of watching people die, enough of them are willing to take it. Wisnowski goes along with the betrayal too. Sela has been trying to protect these people, and now they're prepared to hand her over. Fear is doing work the Queen's soldiers haven't finished. The promise of being left alive is enough to split the resistance from the people it hoped to defend. Malec returns and gets them out of it. He and Sela now have a reason to work together against Lucinda. That doesn't make him a good person or erase their history. It means the Queen has made an enemy of someone who knows her and has a way to help reach her.
