6/8

6/8 Zeus finally arrives to help Zagreus. The Being throws Zeus's failures as a father back at him, and Zeus reminds the Being that he killed his own creator. Neither is fighting a stranger with no history attached. Sela gets through to the Being in a different way. She makes him look at the world he's actually creating. He promised to do better than the Maker, but the destruction around him doesn't look like the salvation he had imagined. He stops fighting back, and Zeus's attack brings the confrontation down around them. Afterward, Zagreus searches the rubble for his father and gets no answer. Ascension leaves him walking away without finding Zeus. For the Being, the defeat goes beyond losing a fight. He has spent all this time certain that his plan would work if he had enough power to carry it out. Now he has to look at what he did with that power. Sela hasn't talked him into a happy change of heart. She has made it impossible for him to keep calling this a success.
