5/6 Acacia now controls the three-headed Azhi Dahaka, the Shadow of Death. This has gone well beyond what she can do to one ship and its crew. Sinbad, Belinda, and Baba Yaga have to stop her, even though each has a different reason for being there. After fighting the revived Carou, Sinbad gets the gem and pins Acacia down. She threatens him with losing his crew for good, but he won't keep making deals with her. Caracas is in danger. He forces her to release Azhi Dahaka's offspring from the gem, and the reunited creatures withdraw. Acacia has been controlling Azhi Dahaka by holding its young. Once Sinbad makes her let them go, she loses that hold over it. He doesn't have to overpower the creature to stop the attack. But freeing its offspring can't do the same for his own people. He saves the city while having to accept that Acacia isn't giving his crew back.
