2/6 The woman who thinks she's Grace is actually Mercy Dante. Sela helps her remember. She hasn't just had an accident and lost a few memories. She's dead, and the place she's been living in is part of the Inferno. Mercy's earlier appearances explain why that discovery is so difficult. After her family was destroyed, she became an assassin. Her attempt to get revenge on the man responsible also involved his innocent daughter, Trisha. Sela gave Mercy a chance to spare the child and make a different choice. Inferno picks up after that intervention. Remembering who she is means remembering all of that too. Mercy gets her skills back, but she also has to face the people she's hurt and the violence she's committed. She can fight her way through things the woman at the beginning couldn't have handled. She also knows why Sela is talking to her about redemption in the first place.
