THE DREAM EATER SAGA • 6/10 Myths & Legends #7 brings us back to Baba Yaga, Samantha, and their captive Piper. They need the Serpent's Scepter, and he's hidden it. Baba's interrogation is brutal. Samantha objects, and the Piper thinks he's found a way to play them against each other. He believes he's convinced Samantha to let him go, attacks her, and retrieves the scepter. That's the opening Baba has been waiting for. He leads them right to it. Samantha still stops Baba from killing him afterward. She'll help with the plan, but that doesn't mean she's agreed to everything Baba wants to do. They haven't suddenly started seeing eye to eye because the trap worked. The Sinbad chapter takes the group into an earlier time. Sinbad and his crew have just rescued Pots from execution when Baba, Samantha, and the Piper show up. They're after the magic lamp Pots carries. Sinbad doesn't know these people. From his side, strangers have attacked his crew and taken his friend. Whatever explanation they have, he isn't going to stand there and let them disappear with Pots. He follows them through the portal. Pots becomes crucial to how this ends. The lamp is the best hope the group has found, but they can't treat Pots like another object they need to collect. He's connected to it in a way that will cost him, and Sinbad has followed because he cares what happens to him. That gets carried into the final confrontation along with everyone else's plans.
