Red Rose deserves her own thread, because the name can send you toward the wrong story before you even start. This is Zenescope's Wonderland character, Lady Elizabeth Mary Bathory, who becomes the leader of the Flowers.
She is not Rose Red from Snow-White and Rose-Red. She is also not Elizabeth Allen, the Red Queen. Those are separate characters with separate histories, even though the names and colors can make them easy to blur together.
Tales from Wonderland: The Red Rose gives her a human beginning. She has a husband, Gerald, and children, Matthew and Rebecca. The garden comes later. Before that, her story is about a household being destroyed and a woman discovering that the losses around her were deliberately caused.
The Bathory name also needs to stay inside the right frame. This is the comic's fictional treatment of that identity, with Baba Yaga, the Dark One, and Wonderland woven into it. It is not a historical account.
