2/4

2/4 Blagg is ordered to remove Morrigan, the captain of the guard who loves Princess Esmerelda. He gets a fairy to abduct Morrigan, then presents himself to the princess as someone who can help. During the supposed rescue, he disfigures Morrigan with acid and blames the fairy. The deception works. Esmerelda believes Blagg has acted honorably and agrees to marry him. He eventually becomes ruler after the king dies. His rise depends on manufacturing a problem, concealing his part in it, and taking credit as the person who solves it.
