9. Hecate, Heather Angelos, and Angel
Heather Angelos is the modern identity connected to Hecate and Angel. Her story carries the gods into a very different kind of confrontation with the human world: she works as a lawyer challenging powerful interests, and her supernatural identity gives that struggle another scale.
Her relationship with Zeus is part of the wider family story. Her own history includes wrongdoing and punishment, so she is not simply introduced as a spotless moral opposite to the rest of the gods. The possibility of change matters to her character.
Her confrontation with Ares also establishes that she can stand against divine violence directly. The wings and warrior imagery are striking, but the important distinction is what she chooses to oppose. In Godstorm, she fights beside Zeus rather than treating humanity as something the gods are entitled to dominate.
That makes her especially relevant to the question running through this whole branch of Grimm Fairy Tales: what should someone do with extraordinary power once they stop assuming it gives them the right to rule?
