5. Venus: worship, pride, and a very personal grievance
Venus adapts to modern celebrity and fashion, but success among humans does not satisfy her. She wants the status and submission that came with being worshipped. Her schemes bring the gods' dissatisfaction into open conflict with the human world.
Godstorm #4 makes her resentment toward Zeus much more personal. A flashback shows her approaching him before his marriage to Hera. Zeus rejects her and insists that she respect his future queen. Venus carries that rejection with her long afterward.
That scene gives the conflict another layer. She has been admired by enormous numbers of people, yet the rejection she cannot control outweighs all of it. Her desire to be adored becomes tangled up with the need to punish someone who refused her.
It does not excuse what she does. It explains why wealth, attention, and beauty never settle the grievance. She can have almost everything and still organize her life around the one response she could not obtain.
