1. The gods of Grimm Fairy Tales

1. The gods of Grimm Fairy Tales I want to spend some time on the gods in Grimm Fairy Tales, because their part of this universe goes well beyond recognizing a name from mythology. Godstorm gives them modern lives, old grudges, families they have damaged, and very different ideas about what humanity owes them. Those conflicts carry into the larger Grimm story. I'm keeping this to the versions and stories I've reached, rather than filling in a roster from Greek mythology and pretending every traditional detail applies here. The comics themselves mix names such as Zeus and Hades with Venus and Neptune, so those are the names I'm using. The useful starting point is the three brothers: Zeus, Hades, and Neptune. Godstorm: Age of Darkness explains that they came to Earth from another realm, and that human worship increased their power. Their history on Earth includes fear, desire, love, and the authority people gave them. That matters when the world changes and they have to decide what they are without their old position.
