14/18 There is an especially disturbing idea in a magical zombie army: even death does not guarantee that someone is beyond being used. Bodies become instruments in another being's campaign. Put that beside Elijah's history, and there is a connection between the external horror and questions of control, freedom, and being denied ownership of your own life. That is a thematic connection, not a claim that every zombie has the same consciousness or personal story. The Cursed does not need to give each corpse an individual voice for the violation to matter. The image of people being turned into weapons already carries that weight.
