2/18 Unleashed puts these threats into the same crisis. The Being unleashes supernatural horrors on Earth, while Sela, Belinda, and four displaced monster hunters become part of the response. Liesel Van Helsing is associated with vampires, Roman Asher with werewolves, Elijah with zombies, and Masumi Yamamoto with demons. The companion books let each threat develop its own story. A vampire struggle for power, a werewolf pursuit, a magical uprising of the dead, and a possession story need different kinds of protagonists and different kinds of solutions. Being released as part of this event also doesn't mean every member of every species was originally created by the Being.
