ARCANE ACRE: THE FIRST CLASS I want to start talking about Arcane Acre and its first group of students. I'm still early in this part of Grimm Fairy Tales, so I'm focusing on the people as they come together rather than jumping ahead to everything they eventually do. The school is in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania. Shang is the headmaster, with Sela Mathers and Belinda guiding the students' training. The opening class is Skye, Ali, Violet, Wulf and Hailey. They are Highborns and Falsebloods with potential, brought together to learn how to handle their abilities and become defenders in their own right. That arrangement puts some very different people under one roof. Wulf walks in ready to talk about his accomplishments. Violet makes it clear that Wonderland isn't something she wants everyone interrogating her about. Ali is quieter, Hailey is already comfortable joking around with Wulf, and Skye is trying to figure out where she fits among all of them. They aren't an experienced team just because someone has brought them to the same school. The first evening already has awkward introductions, attraction, loneliness and somebody interfering with something he doesn't understand. Learning to live together is going to matter alongside learning to fight.
