THE CHESHIRE CAT: THE MONSTER, THE DIFFERENT VERSIONS, AND THE HEART UNDERNEATH

THE CHESHIRE CAT: THE MONSTER, THE DIFFERENT VERSIONS, AND THE HEART UNDERNEATH I want to talk about the Cheshire Cat properly, because I’ve noticed something about him as I’ve been reading Wonderland: there is a heart there. When the madness is not controlling everything, there are moments where compassion comes through, and those moments matter to me. But there is an important distinction before getting into that history. The original Cheshire Cat and Dark Cheshire are different characters. Dark Cheshire is the original’s son. Their stories belong together in a discussion of Cheshire, but treating every appearance as one individual changing personalities would blur what actually happened. I’m keeping this to the stories I’ve read so far, through this part of the ongoing Wonderland series.
