PlayStation 4 launched in North America on November 15, 2013, reached Europe two weeks later, and arrived in Japan in February 2014. Sharing gameplay became a much more ordinary part of using the console. The DualShock 4 put a Share button right on the controller, alongside its touchpad and built-in speaker. Saving a screenshot or recording a clip no longer required a separate setup. Features like Remote Play and Share Play also gave people more ways to play away from the television or bring a friend into what they were doing. The library grew to include Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and the 2018 God of War. You could see established developers taking their games in different directions, whether that meant Guerrilla building a world of machines for Horizon or God of War following an older Kratos and his son. Sony introduced the smaller PS4 in 2016, along with PS4 Pro later that year. Pro added more processing power for improvements such as higher-resolution visuals and better performance in supported games. Those improvements varied by game, but the upgrade stayed within the PS4 generation and its library.
