There's also a reason to visit the blacksmith in Samopesh before all of this: Dead Men Tell No Tales. His son Svatopluk won a tournament, then became ill and died afterward. The blacksmith suspects something happened, and Henry can investigate. The local innkeeper can point you toward him if you haven't found that conversation yet. The tournament and Black Peter encounter provide the answer. After dealing with Peter, search him and take the poisoned Page's sword before returning to the blacksmith. That evidence connects what happened to Henry with the death of his son. You can obtain the sword through a nonlethal takedown as well, although the dialogue and reward depend on how you resolve the encounter. If Peter already attacked you before you picked up the quest, still go speak to the blacksmith. The sequence can be completed afterward, so don't assume the investigation is lost just because the ambush happened first. That's the route I'd keep together: arrange the investigation, prepare for the fights, enter the tournament, collect the prize, handle Peter, and return with the evidence. After that, the repeat tournaments are there whenever you want to continue working toward the armor set.
