5. Wild Child is already more than his claws
Wild Child supplies the feral side of Gamma's roster, with claws, sharpened senses and the physical abilities to make him dangerous at close quarters. His appearance also shapes how the other characters respond to him.
The meeting in #11 gives him a small but revealing introduction. He initially keeps his face turned away because he knows people find it disturbing. Flashback responds with contempt, and Wild Child immediately threatens him.
That is an ugly interaction between future teammates before they have even begun their mission. There is insecurity, cruelty and a very short distance between an insult and violence. Courtney's influence is aggravating the tensions in the room as she assembles her team.
Wild Child can speak, argue and understand how people see him. Reducing this early version to an animal would miss the person participating in that exchange.
He joins Omega, where his violence becomes a direct danger to Alpha. Aurora is injured during their first battle, and Northstar stops him.
The original Gamma has put someone with serious behavioral problems into a training structure. Once that structure disappears, the next person organizing him is interested in turning those problems against somebody else.
