1. After Guardian, the book stays with Heather Alpha Flight #13 opens with Heather Hudson having a nightmare. Mac's death has not become background information between adventures. She is still living with it, and the next part of the series starts there. Puck and Shaman try to help, but neither can make the loss disappear. Shaman is particularly careful about using magic to intervene. Having a magician nearby doesn't mean grief should be treated as another condition he can remove from a teammate. Heather initially sees no future for Alpha Flight without Mac. That is a credible place for her to begin. The team was tied to their marriage, their work and the life they built together. Continuing it means returning to something that now hurts. This chapter covers #13–28, through the end of Byrne's run. It has its own identity: Heather moves into leadership, Elizabeth Twoyoungmen becomes Talisman, and the original members start changing in ways that make a simple replacement for Guardian impossible. There are still familiar faces. The arrangement between them is much less familiar. https://t.co/YBpBfpM5SZ https://t.co/STFFKjgS13
