2. Sirocco keeps the pursuit moving
Sirocco is the leader, with wind powers that let him move through the air and create powerful currents. In a group this small, though, his orders tell us as much about his place on the team as his powers do.
When Freedom Force manages to break away, he divides the pursuit. Arabian Knight, Veil and Black Raazer go after the scientist with Blob and Pyro. Sirocco takes Aminedi after Avalanche and the wounded Crimson Commando.
That is a pretty important choice. The Americans have become two smaller groups, with an injured man slowing one of them down. Sirocco keeps pressure on both rather than letting one get away while everyone piles onto the other.
He also knows the ground they are fighting over. Around the airport, the danger includes Iraqi mines. Being able to fly changes how he can move through that situation, while the people trying to escape on foot have a very different problem.
There is a nasty side to his leadership in the way he treats Arabian Knight, too. The Knight's reluctance is met with contempt and demands that he continue. Whatever cooperation this team has in a fight, there is no reason to assume everybody believes in the mission or has freely chosen to be there.
Sirocco gives the group direction. The story leaves plenty of room to see how ugly that direction can be.
