Once that point is reached, the intense hunger stops. That change could seem encouraging to somebody who did not know what was happening, but the danger has actually moved into its final phase. Infected cells break down, and modified antibodies somehow trigger ignition. The article describes fat sustaining the resulting fire through a wick effect, but it does not explain the anomalous ignition mechanism. It also does not give a predictable countdown between reaching that final stage and combustion. The transmission details keep expanding the problem. Rats can carry the virus without developing the human disease. Infected blood and sexual contact can also spread it.
