SCP-076: Able
SCP-076 has two parts: an ancient stone cube and the man inside it. That distinction matters because killing the man doesn't destroy the anomaly.
The cube contains a chained coffin. While he's inside, the humanoid designated SCP-076-2 is technically dead. Periodically he revives, tries to get out, and seeks the nearest human. Once he encounters people, the file describes a violent state that has only been ended by killing him.
Doing that is much harder than it sounds. He's fast enough to cover more than sixty meters in under three seconds, can tear through a reinforced steel door, and continues fighting through injuries that would incapacitate an ordinary person. He isn't invulnerable, but surviving an injury and actually being stopped by it are very different things here.
His weapons are another detail worth separating from the usual shorthand. The blades don't simply appear in his hands. Slow-motion footage shows him pulling them through small dimensional openings. Nobody knows where those openings lead, and the weapons disappear too quickly after leaving him for proper analysis.
When he dies, his body deteriorates into dust. The cube and coffin close, and he reforms inside. That process has taken anything from six hours to twenty-five years. A successful response can buy time without giving anyone a reliable idea of how much time they've bought.
Containment reflects that uncertainty. The facility sits below sea level, with flooded sections and a heavily defended corridor. Its final contingency floods the whole site, even though that will kill the personnel still there.
The opening memo adds a different concern. Someone is objecting to revisions that would obscure what happened with Omega-7. The argument is that the guards deserve to know the history and the Foundation's own mistakes.
That makes the file more than a list of what Able can survive. People are being asked to manage an extremely dangerous recurring breach, while the institution responsible is arguing over how much of its failure they should be allowed to see.
