SCP-065: Destroyed Organic Catalyst

SCP-065: Destroyed Organic Catalyst SCP-065 is what remained after somebody decided an anomalous object needed to be destroyed. The Global Occult Coalition broke a stone figurine on a farm. The effect expanded across the property, killing operatives and civilians before settling into a smaller region the Foundation now contains. Living organisms inside undergo uncontrolled changes. Cells lose their specialization, tissues fuse or die, and mutations accumulate. Larger, more complex organisms suffer faster. Human exposure has proved fatal within roughly fifteen minutes. Even observing the center causes sensory distortion, including through recording equipment. A rover navigating by touch eventually retrieves the broken pieces. The family apparently used the figurine to improve crop yields. A letter found in the house presents it as a gift meant to help them through financial trouble. The sender hoped it would make life easier. That modest intention makes the aftermath worse. Nobody in that letter is asking for a grand miracle. They're trying to keep a farm going. The original object's complete risks remain unknown, but the consequences of breaking it are clear. The Coalition asks the Foundation for help, leaving somebody else to contain a danger that can no longer be picked up. https://t.co/gel0inHrnE
