SCP-063: "The World's Best TothBrush"
Somewhere at Site-19, containment depends on somebody remembering to brush their teeth.
SCP-063 is a pale blue plastic toothbrush with a misspelled claim of superiority along its side. Laboratory analysis finds ordinary plastic. The bristles, however, erase dead or inorganic matter from existence rather than scraping or cutting through it.
A thief in St. Petersburg had been using that property to open safes. People who use it for its intended purpose report exceptionally clean teeth, a restrained review of something that can remove part of a safe.
The Foundation keeps it in a doctor's private bathroom and requires daily use. Leave it unused for more than twenty-four hours and it begins emitting radiation that warps nearby material and eventually reduces it to dust. What that radiation does to living subjects hasn't been established.
That gap in the testing makes the bathroom arrangement more unsettling.
The article never identifies its maker or explains the branding. It offers a remarkable tool, a mundane storage location, and one recurring obligation. Whoever uses that bathroom has an excellent reason to maintain their routine, even if the rest of the facility is having a very difficult day.
