SCP-062: "Quantum" Computer Open SCP-062 and you find an empty computer case with a blank circuit board. Close it, turn it on, and it has an operating system and somebody else's files. The next startup may give you something different. One session contains financial records that contradict the real bank's records. Another offers unfamiliar choral music. A third has advertising for a commercial spaceflight company that doesn't exist. Familiar software appears in unexpected languages, including Latin and Akkadian cuneiform. Then it produces what looks like a Foundation workstation, except the site in its records doesn't exist either. Those details suggest other versions of the world without proving where the information comes from. Even the operating systems and performance change, so the machine won't provide a consistent starting point for investigation. The final logged incident gives the curiosity a practical cost: a virus compromises several workstations and a server before researchers shut SCP-062 down. The instruction to keep it away from external networks suddenly feels sensible. A mysterious archive sounds appealing until you remember files can do more than tell you things. Nobody has to understand where this computer's contents originated for those contents to cause trouble here. https://t.co/PBB2jI2mgv
