SCP-043: The Beatle SCP-043 would be a hell of a record-store find. It's a copy of the Beatles' White Album with no grooves, but it plays anyway. Put the needle anywhere and it still starts at the beginning. When it reaches the spot where Revolution 9 should play, the record stops turning. You hear breathing. Sometimes, whoever is on the other end starts talking. The voice knows an enormous amount about music, including theory, industry details, and obscure band trivia. You could have quite a conversation with it, right up until you ask about the Beatles or try to find out who it is. Those subjects are off limits. There's also a handwritten note inside the sleeve identifying it as a one-of-one edition and thanking John. Enough to encourage a theory, nowhere near enough to prove one. That restraint works here. The file doesn't need a body count or a disastrous experiment to make the record interesting. It gives you an object that shouldn't work, somebody willing to talk through it, and two very specific things they won't discuss. Whoever it is, they seem quite happy to keep the conversation on their terms. https://t.co/28s9KCsQIv
