SCP-038: The Everything Tree Touch SCP-038's bark with a laptop and another laptop starts growing from the tree. Give it a few minutes and the copy is ready. The same works for food, furniture, pets, and people. Found on an abandoned New York farm, this Safe-class anomaly initially looked like an ordinary apple tree. Staff now wear hazmat suits around it to avoid accidentally producing copies of themselves. Its care otherwise involves watering and controlled lighting. There is a hard limit: no duplicate can exceed about 200 pounds. A heavier object produces an unfinished copy. Living duplicates have a worse problem. Human and animal clones age rapidly, usually surviving around two weeks. Their bodies begin fermenting before they die. The Foundation also tried copying SCP-173. Only its head, right arm, and part of its torso developed before the weight limit cut it off. At first, the fragment seemed inert. Later, researchers noticed it making extremely slow, violent movements, even while observed. Meanwhile, staff kept using the tree for snacks, keys, music, and beer. Management repeatedly told them to stop. Apparently, an anomalous cloning tree still becomes the office's free vending machine. https://t.co/GFDuw2lqMN
