SCP-027 Imagine trying to sleep while insects keep finding their way onto you. You move somewhere else, and within minutes they start gathering again. Stay long enough, and the rats arrive too. SCP-027 attaches itself to a human host and draws vermin toward them. The person has no control over the animals. Some attack them. The Foundation keeps the current host above a grated floor with a vacuum system underneath, constantly removing the creatures that turn up. Then there's what happened to the first known host. After he died, an autopsy found rats had been nesting inside his abdomen for generations. Almost six days later, a security officer woke up struggling to breathe because a fly had crawled into his nose. He became the next host. That officer's interview brings it home. The researcher asks about voices and an internal presence. The man just feels filthy and frightened. He wants to see his family again. The Foundation can clear the room, but it still doesn't know how to free him. And killing the host has already failed to end the problem. https://t.co/mgUFeaYNGy
