Print Color Preflight is now Gold with v2.0.0.
This one helps inspect PDF color information and plan RGB-to-CMYK conversion around an ICC profile. It also has sampled total-area-coverage checks, so you can investigate ink coverage before sending a file further into a print workflow.
The Gold pass tightened ICC validation, bounded the raster work, improved malformed-PDF errors, and added more careful checks around source files, profiles, and output destinations. It also fixes a retained-image-handle problem during Windows cleanup. The release moves to Python 3.11+ and Pillow 13.
The installed tool was checked against Ghostscript 10.08 on Linux. Ghostscript and ICC profiles are separate requirements, with their own licensing.
You'll still need your printer's requirements and the right approved profile. A software preflight can't certify the physical print result, but it can help you find things worth correcting beforehand.
