A black box over text in a PDF deserves a closer look before you share the file. Blackout Proof is now Gold. It inspects PDFs locally for structural redaction risks and can use optional OCR to add count-only findings without putting the recognized text in the report. This pass fixed how covered characters are counted, taking drawing order into account so foreground text and backgrounds aren't treated the same way. I also tightened limits on PDF and OCR work, improved output protections, and checked the installed tool with Tesseract on Linux. If requested OCR isn't available, the result explicitly says the check is incomplete. Windows and macOS native OCR still need their own local qualification. This is a review tool. It doesn't edit or sanitize the PDF, so flagged files still need to be inspected and properly redacted before sharing. https://t.co/kmaHjMsn6i
