I feel like once I get into the mid- to late '90s, the time necessary to read each comic will go down significantly, which will help pick up the pace a little bit. Slogging through the first 30 years of Marvel comics that are related to X titles has been a hell of a push. There have been times where I was stuck on just 2 or 3 Claremont issues for a while because there's just so much heavy thick text on them. Some of the newer ones still have a lot of text as well but they just have a smoother reading transition and don't repeat themselves as much. It just kind of makes it easier.
It's kind of like when I'm reading Grimm fairy tales. I can nuke through those pretty quickly because they have such minimal text compared to what I'm reading. I plan on finishing catching up. I'm probably going to get into the post-Claremont area then I'm going to slow down a bit.
And I'm going to start spending a lot of time catching up on Grimm Fairy Tales because I'm around the time period where Arcane Acres started so I've knocked out a lot of Grimm Fairy Tales. But I really want to get that series current just because of how long I've been reading it. After I get through the Clermont era I'm going to be going back and affording to catch up on those.
I also updated my Absolute series read order. I was behind by a couple of months and they added a couple of new series since I was last in there. I had read them all up to a current point. I plan on doing a lot of X posts about those as well when I start reading.
I've started really trying to capture mentally what I want to post about as I'm reading so I'm not just posting random stuff on here. I'm posting based off of what I'm experiencing at the time that I'm posting it. Right now I'm posting about SCPs because I'm personally going through and researching all of the SCPs just to extract writing inspiration or writing ideas for stuff that I'm working on with my writing. That's why I'm doing that series at the same time.
I'm actively reading through the X-Men chronology and so far I've read up to a certain point. That's why I'm converting a lot of what I've read into actual posts because I'm posting about the stuff that I'm reading right now. I plan on doing that same thing as I go through and read other series.
When I transition back into Grimm Fairy Tales, I'm probably going to retroactively do a bunch of posts to cover materials I've already read. I've already read through all of the Wildstorm series, for example. I had a whole bunch of stuff I would have loved to have posted about: read orders and other stuff. Later on I plan on going through and posting a lot about that when I get back to it. There's a lot that's going to be happening.
Same thing with the games. I played a lot of games over the years and I've not really done a lot of postings the way that I wanted to when I was actively playing those games. Now I've been kind of making up for that. I've been actively posting whatever comes to mind when it comes to things about Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I have old game series that I've beaten that I would have loved to have posted a lot about but I just never got around to it when I was actively playing them. When I revisit the series when new ones come out, there'll probably be a lot of posts to catch up on those as well as I continue to go through and play new stuff.
And then the same thing with my writing. I've not been writing as much as I normally do, because I've been doing a bunch of other stuff and I'm trying to deal with some personal issues I've been working through, I have to be very focused when I'm writing.
On that update I posted two of my poetry books about a week ago. I've got one more poetry book about to get published, along with one other short story that I finished and that I'm about to publish. I'll be doing that this week or this weekend.
