All right just a little status report because I'm working on a couple of different things.
I've been trying to get all of my open source projects moved into this gold status that I created, which has been quite a bit more work than what I expected. Some of my open source projects are more open-ended than that, a little bit bigger than that, so they're not going to be gold status because they're ongoing.
I plan on posting new open source projects a little bit more often now that I got everything set up the way that I want. I've also added a paid subscription account with paid packs to my music system, which I posted earlier and called Eidolon.
And I've added a bunch of features to that. I made it so projects can carry between the different systems that I have built into it. I'm probably going to be building a desktop app around the same set of features now that I've got a premium account plan on there as well. I'll also be adding more packs and stuff over time, as well as new features.
I had a lot of ideas for this when I first started it. At first it was just like a sound visualizer and then over time I ended up adding a beat maker. I've been building on it over time, over the last six months or so, and it's really come together. I'm really happy with the way it goes. It probably does need a little bit of a UI overhaul here and there so I'll still be working on improving the user-friendliness as I expand on it. I like the way it's coming together so far.
On top of that I've got a lot of different labs that I've converted to products. I've added a new section to my Logan Pen Dragon Forge, which is for products. They're basically labs that have been upgraded to something that's pretty close to fully finished. They're at least products insofar as they do what I want them to do and they're ready to go. Now I'm going to be focusing mostly on marketing those instead of developing on those. I'll continue to add new features on them over time and make them better but it's kind of switching from ongoing development to starting to market and push them out there more.
I've also added, or I will be adding, another section called Sponsored Labs. These are clients or people who reach out to me and they want to pay a certain amount to basically fund the development of one of the labs. In return they get a marketing spot on it permanently or some kind of percentage arrangement off of that one lab. I have one of those that has already been locked in that I'm getting funds for soon and then I'll have some others that I'll be marketing and pitching out there as well. That's something that I didn't think I would do and that I just recently started getting in that direction. That's kind of the serial entrepreneur ecosystem that I've been working on.
For the comics I've continued to read through the X-Men chronologically. I've been making some really fast progress. I'm just now getting caught up on some of the Wolverines. I've got a lot to read because I really want to get my X-Men read through current but I'm just now in the early '90s. It's going to be a lot of reading over these next few months to get to where I'm trying to get to.
Right now I'm just trying to get to the end of the Claremont era because I've been stuck in it for so long. I've been here for a long time because I was reading that alongside other series and I would take long breaks from it as well. I'm really determined to get out of the Claremont era because that whole era tended to be really wordy in comics, with a lot of text.
Now that I'm getting into a new era, the late '90s, it'll transition into a lot fewer words per comic so it'll be faster for me to read through them without rushing. Even right now when I'm reading Wolverine, I notice I get through Wolverine comics probably 5:1, if not 8:1, versus Claremont's writing because it's so thick text-wise.
All right just a little status report because I'm working on a couple of different things.
