6/7 Eel: Leopold Stryke The Eel in this group is Leopold Stryke. His costume combines an electrical charge with a slippery surface, making him an unpleasant person to try to hold onto. That is a straightforward criminal advantage. Anyone trying to arrest him has to get close enough to take the risk. He and Unicorn bring in Cyclops and Iceman during the opening operation. Nefaria is irritated to hear that the two X-Men were stunned, because he wanted his prospective recruits unharmed. Eel is useful in the later scramble too. When soldiers try to detain the villains, his suit makes getting a grip on him difficult. He's part of the same argument for preparing carefully before writing off a villain with a silly name. Eel isn't trying to win a fair contest against the whole X-Men team. He's working with other criminals, using equipment that makes particular moves dangerous, and taking advantage of confusion. The crew's first assignment succeeds. The ransom job falls apart once everybody starts treating the same briefcase as their personal retirement fund.
