5. Equilibrius Equilibrius attacks an opponent's sense of balance. Looking into his eyes can produce severe vertigo, which gives him a way to stop someone whose strength or agility might otherwise be a problem. His X-Men #62 appearance places him among the Creator's forces confronting Ka-Zar. He is one of the early signs that the conflict involves more than an ordinary armed group. The X-Men are dealing with people who can interfere with how their bodies respond to the world around them. That is a useful ability to include alongside the team's more visibly physical powers. A fighter can be strong enough to win a contest and still struggle to act while disoriented. Equilibrius makes the opponent's own perception part of the encounter.
