2. Amphibius
Amphibius is the first member of the group to find Angel after his fall into the Savage Land in X-Men #62. Bringing Warren to the Creator puts the injured X-Man directly into Magneto's hands.
His frog-like appearance makes him easy to recognize, and his mobility is central to his physical identity. He belongs to a group whose members have been visibly reshaped by technology. Calling him a mutate keeps that origin in view instead of suggesting that he simply arrived at a school with a naturally developing power.
He also works as a messenger and intermediary. That is an important role in an introduction built around Angel being shown a misleading version of events. Warren meets the subordinate before he understands who is giving the orders.
Amphibius helps establish how the organization works on the ground: the Creator commands, and his transformed followers carry out the work. The enormous machinery belongs to Magneto, but it takes people like Amphibius to bring someone through the door.
