ARTIE MADDICKS: THE YOUNGER KIDS MATTER TOO
Artie communicates through projected images. That gives him a role in this story that doesn't depend on being the biggest fighter or the loudest person in the group.
When he and Leech are taken, getting information out becomes part of the rescue. Artie's projected image of their location gives the others something they can work from.
He's frightened and in danger, but he can still help the people trying to find him. That's an important distinction when following the younger characters through this crossover.
His friendship with Leech also gives the story a relationship that exists outside the adults' missions. The two of them look out for each other, and the arrival of Takeshi adds someone else to their part of the story.
Artie deserves his own entry in the team thread because communication is a contribution. A clue, an image or a warning can change what the rest of the group is able to do, even when the person providing it isn't throwing punches.
