X-TEAM SPOTLIGHT: THE X-TERMINATORS
This is the young X-Terminators group from the four-issue miniseries cover-dated October 1988 through January 1989, written by Louise Simonson with art by Jon Bogdanove.
The name has a little history. X-Factor's adults had already used X-Terminators as a costumed identity. This series centers on the younger characters: Rusty Collins, Skids, Boom-Boom, Rictor, Artie, Leech and Wiz Kid.
The teenagers and the younger children have different roles in the story, but all seven belong in this spotlight.
They're connected through X-Factor's care and training, and the miniseries catches them as their lives are being split between schools and other responsibilities. Then the demonic crisis leading into Inferno pulls them into danger together.
Their part of the crossover deals directly with kidnapped children and the attempt to open a way between Limbo and Earth. Following just the adult teams can leave you missing what these younger characters are doing.
This thread stays with that four-issue story. The older four's move into the New Mutants is a later team update.
