CAPTAIN BRITAIN: BRIAN BRADDOCK

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: BRIAN BRADDOCK Brian already has a superhero history before Excalibur begins. He brings his own connections, enemies and responsibilities into the group, along with superhuman strength and flight. He's also Betsy Braddock's twin brother. When the X-Men are believed dead, that loss includes his sister. So the tragedy that reaches Kitty and Kurt reaches Brian through his family as well. His relationship with Meggan is another major part of the early setup. They already have a life together when the others arrive, and sharing that life with a team creates its own problems. The lighthouse becomes a place where personalities have to fit together between the fights. For this first entry, Brian is the established British hero joining forces with surviving X-Men. His background is one reason Excalibur can move naturally into stories involving magic and other dimensions. He doesn't need a full career recap squeezed into this post. The important starting point is that he comes to Excalibur with a life already in progress, and the team changes it.
