ICEMAN: BOBBY ALREADY KNOWS HOW TO WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE
Bobby Drake was the youngest of the original X-Men, but by X-Factor he has years of experience behind him. Coming back to this group means coming back to people who already understand how he works.
There's a simple example in X-Factor #3 while they're trying to rescue Hank. Bobby and Jean have to get through a secured building. He uses cold to make a door brittle, then she breaks it with her telekinesis. It's a small piece of teamwork that shows why these powers are useful together.
That's worth keeping in these character posts. Power descriptions tend to become a list of the biggest things someone has ever done. Early X-Factor also gives us ordinary mission problems where a familiar combination of abilities gets people through a door or out of danger.
Bobby brings his humor with him, but he's also an experienced teammate. In this opening lineup, he helps make the reunion feel like five people who really have worked together before.
That finishes the five-person launch roster. Later X-Factor developments will get their own posts.
