BEAST: PAY ATTENTION TO WHICH HANK YOU'RE LOOKING AT

BEAST: PAY ATTENTION TO WHICH HANK YOU'RE LOOKING AT Beast's appearance changes during X-Factor, so a picture of him from one part of the run can give the wrong impression of another. He starts this book in his furry form. In the opening story involving Carl Maddicks, he's abducted and subjected to an experiment that changes him back to a human-looking form. That happens in X-Factor #2–3, very early in the series. The experiment is tied to Maddicks trying to change his own mutant son, Artie. Hank ends up being treated as a test subject, and the rest of the team has to get him out. So even with the original five reunited, this isn't a case of everybody being put back exactly as they were in the 1960s. Hank brings his scientific knowledge and years of experience with him, and then almost immediately has another major change forced on his body. For this first spotlight, keep those opening issues in mind. His later changes deserve their own entry rather than being folded into one generic Beast description.
