Post 6 of 7 Shaman: Michael Twoyoungmen Shaman helps determine where this story can happen. The weather that forces the X-Men into Canada and the barrier around the Stampede grounds place limits on their movement. By X-Men #121, Michael Twoyoungmen is doing more than supplying another attack. His magic has helped arrange the confrontation and restrict access to it. His introduction in #120 identifies him as a physician working near Calgary. During the battle, we see him working from his pouch, producing magical effects that include animated attackers. That variety makes him difficult to assess. The X-Men have to respond to each new spell as it appears, while the barrier keeps potential help outside. Then he calls up a wind that contributes to the weather becoming uncontrollable. A tactic used in a contained fight becomes a threat to the surrounding city. Storm has to abandon the ordinary demands of the battle and deal with the larger emergency. The other combatants can stop throwing punches; the weather keeps moving. Shaman has helped trap the X-Men in a fight, and now he needs one of them to deal with what has happened. Storm has to protect the city while Alpha Flight is still trying to capture her teammate.
