Post 1 of 5 THE STARJAMMERS ARRIVE
The Starjammers enter the X-Men's world in 1977, with a short glimpse aboard their ship in X-Men #104 before the full crew joins the action in #107–108. Corsair, Ch'od, Hepzibah and Raza are already working together when the X-Men meet them. There's a ship, a captain and a history between these people that the visitors from Earth have only begun to understand.
Their arrival expands the kind of company the X-Men can keep. These allies carry guns and blades, travel between worlds and have their own reasons for opposing Emperor D'Ken. They aren't waiting for Xavier to explain the danger. By the time the X-Men reach the M'Kraan Crystal, the Starjammers have been trying to stop the same catastrophe.
The meeting happens during a battle with the Imperial Guard. The newcomers help turn that battle, but winning it leaves a much larger problem: D'Ken's actions threaten reality itself. Everyone has to work beyond the limits of the fight they thought they were having.
Corsair is the captain, Ch'od is the huge green alien with a small companion, Hepzibah is already arguing about their new allies, and Raza is ready to get his hands on the emperor. Introductions have to happen while everyone is trying to stay alive.
The thread starts with those four. They have a life together before this encounter, and the X-Men are stepping into it.
Issues: X-Men #104, #107–108 (1977). Main introduction, #107: Chris Claremont, writer; Dave Cockrum, pencils; Dan Green, inks; Andy Yanchus, colors; Joe Rosen, letters. #108: Claremont, writer; John Byrne, pencils; Terry Austin, inks; Andy Yanchus, colors; Tom Orzechowski and Denise Wohl, letters.
