Second Clement is an anonymous Christian sermon from roughly the middle of the second century CE. Despite its traditional title, it is generally understood as neither a letter nor a work by the author of First Clement. Its concerns are direct: repentance, self-control, generosity and living out faith. Lightfoot’s translation is available on Spirit Nation, preserving an early example of Christian preaching to a gathered community.
