9/11 • Book of Jasher: Jacob Ilive's Work This title needs its own introduction. Jacob Ilive's Book of Jasher was an English literary fabrication first published in 1751, with a fictional claim to ancient origins. Spirit Nation has the main narrative from its 1829 reprint, clearly identified as Ilive's work. It is distinct from the Hebrew Jasher tradition and does not recover the lost book mentioned in the Bible. Read it as an example of how a biblical title could inspire a much later invented text. https://t.co/pAHpgwFwnX
