3/11 • Fragments of Papias Papias, an early second-century Christian writer at Hierapolis in Asia Minor, valued what he could learn from people who carried earlier teachings. His five-book work is lost, but quotations and reports preserve parts of it, including traditions about Mark and Matthew. Spirit Nation has Lightfoot and Harmer's 1891 collection of twenty fragments and testimonies. The source attributions help readers distinguish what is quoted from Papias from what later writers said about him. https://t.co/rdIMr8XNP3
