2. SCP-002: The “Living” Room Spoilers for SCP-002. Body horror and violence. SCP-002 is a huge fleshy growth with an iron hatch in its side. Inside, it looks like a small apartment. There's even a window that doesn't exist on the outside. The furniture is made from human material. Bone, hair, and other biological substances. People disappear inside, and the room ends up with more furniture. The file lists lamps, a rug, a television, children's toys, and other additions. Tests with animals and dead bodies don't get a response. The process appears to need living humans. It's classified Euclid. That's about how reliably the Foundation can contain it, rather than a danger ranking. They keep it connected to power in what looks like a recharging state. If the power fails, staff close an emergency barrier and evacuate. Anyone working within 20 metres has to be part of a team of at least two, with physical contact maintained. Being near it can affect your perception, so seeing someone beside you apparently isn't enough. The discovery report places it in a crater in Portugal after it came down from orbit. Three villagers sent inside disappear. General Mulhausen then orders witnesses killed to keep it secret. During transport preparations, four security personnel are drawn inside and disappear too. An inspection finds new furnishings. The report ends with Mulhausen dead and the object secured, but leaves part of what happened redacted. So the file gives us the room, the disappearances, and the containment rules, without a complete explanation of how it turns people into household objects. Original entry: https://t.co/eogs3lozpt
